Customer Service Representative – Part-time (#115)

Position Summary

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for delivering superior service to the customers at all times. Present a positive, efficient and professional front line atmosphere. Leave the customer with the feeling they are our number one priority. Treat all internal and external customers with respect and courtesy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Efficiently and accurately handling all customer transactions in person or by mail or phone including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash advances, money orders, gift cards, postage stamps, etc.; balancing daily work, cash drawer, and negotiables
  • Researching and following-up of customer inquiries regarding accounts and services in a timely manner whether in person or by mail or phone
  • Educating and informing customers on all products and services; referring and/or cross-selling products and services in order to meet expectations
  • Performing account maintenance functions including closures, personal and account data changes, and account openings
  • Promptly answering telephone
  • Taking accurate messages when necessary and following up that call was returned
  • Possessing and maintaining knowledge of all products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Attending training classes as requested
  • Being available to travel or relocate to any branch location as requested by management as well as working on Saturdays when needed
  • Maintaining excellent verbal and written communication with department supervisors, co-workers, and customers
  • Accurately and efficiently completing all customer or account related forms and forwarding to appropriate department for action
  • Completing any job assignments and duties assigned
  • Assisting with the opening/closing of the branch office as necessary
  • Promoting teamwork by assisting others with work when needed or when own work is completed
  • Assisting in special projects or other assignments as requested

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to converse in person or by phone with customers and correspond in writing
  • Willingness to attend training seminars and meetings outside normal working hours
  • Ability to learn and use the PC hardware and software
  • Must have a proactive and positive attitude toward customers, supervisors, co-workers and the bank
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
